James’ acting has had often been compared to that of international star, Chow Yuen Fatt’s. However, he strives to develop and improve his own styles. A very talented and experienced actor he is charming, active and charismatic. His perseverance has gained him the Most Popular Local Chinese Actor 98’ Award.

He is very serious about his work and loves his job, which he says has given him the opportunities to work with many foreign artistes on oversea projects in Canada, Taiwan, Hong Kong and China.

The range of his acting skills is highly diversified and he believes in getting into character by first creating a mental image of his role before stepping into it. Being an athletic and health conscious person, James prefers drinking plain water to any things else. However, when it comes to meals, seafood is his favorite choice. A fervent admirer of watches, he believes that time is of no importance, living one’s life to the fullest is.
